Student Academic Guide

Welcome to the Imperial European University (IEU Paris) community. As a higher education institution dedicated to flexible, rigorous distance learning, IEU Paris empowers executive and degree-seeking scholars worldwide to achieve academic distinction without compromising professional commitments.

This Academic Guide serves as your essential roadmap to navigating online study, managing workload expectations under ECTS frameworks, adhering to legal privacy standards, and maintaining high academic standards throughout your program.

Introduction & Academic Philosophy

At Imperial European University, distance education is anchored in self-directed inquiry, academic integrity, and applied professional relevance. Our programs combine European educational frameworks with practical applicability.

As an IEU Paris student, you join an international network of scholars, practitioners, and leaders. Success in our programs requires intellectual curiosity, personal discipline, and active engagement with our learning management systems (LMS) and faculty advisors.

Distance learning provides flexibility, but flexibility requires proactive structure. Courses are evaluated using the European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System (ECTS), where 1 ECTS credit represents approximately 25 to 30 hours of total student workload (including self-study, research, assignments, and lectures).

Time Management Strategies for Executives

  • Establish a Dedicated Routine: Reserve specific time blocks each week exclusively for reading, research, and coursework.

  • Track Deadlines Early: Review your syllabus at the start of each module and log all milestone submission dates into your personal calendar.

  • Utilize Micro-Study Sessions: Use short breaks during the day to review literature, listen to lectures, or draft assignment outlines.

Clear and professional communication is essential in a global, asynchronous academic environment.

Professional Email & Campus Messaging

  • Official Accounts: Always use your assigned student email address (@ieu-paris.fr or student portal identity) for official correspondence.

  • Subject Lines: State your course code, full name, and the nature of your inquiry in every subject line (e.g., BUS-701 – John Doe – Assignment 2 Clarification).

  • Tone & Etiquette: Maintain a professional, respectful tone. Faculty and peer interactions should embody mutual respect across cultural and linguistic backgrounds.

  • Response Windows: Academic support staff and faculty aim to respond to queries within 24 to 48 business hours.

Pursuing a degree alongside career and personal commitments requires proactive balance, mental resilience, and personal accountability.
